Abstract

Conceptual blending theory plays a fundamental role in the meaning construction of natural language. It also has great cognitive effects on metaphor translation. This thesis applies the theory to analyze the translation of metaphors in poems of Mao Zedong, and aims at investigating the metaphor translation strategies in three selected English versions, which takes the 30 metaphors as research data.
