Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the molecular weight of the protein ghrelin, receptor ghrelin and neupeptide Y as a basis to determine the amino acid sequence of protein ghrelin receptor ghrelin and neuropeptide Y (NPY) and then to make the protein ghrelin synthetic function of regulating the energy balance in broilers. Samples isolated from the gastrointestinal tract and brain tissue taken from the broiler and then examined by SDS Page, Western blott and MALDI-TOP. Based on these results it can be concluded that the molecular weight of the protein ghrelin is a 44 kDa with the amino acid sequence mflrvil and neuropeptide Y molecular weight of 11 kDa by arrangement tmrlwvsvltlaeayps and receptor ghrelin molecular weight of 44 kDa with the amino acid sequence mregssenrt ggesplrlfp apvltgitva cvllfvvgvl gnlmtmlvvs rfrdmrtttn mflrvillgi lllsilgtet alagssflsp tykniqqqkd trkptarlhr rgtesfwdtd etegeddnns vdikfnvpfe igvkiterey qeygqalekm lqdilaenae etrtks. By knowing the molecular weight and amino acid composition of the protein ghrelin may be made of synthetic ghrelin protein to regulate energy balance broiler chickens. Exploration of natural ingredients derived from slada leaves, leaf spinach, cassava leaves showed ghrelin protein.
