- Abstract
This study was conducted as an early study to know the potency of turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) ethanol extract as immunomodulator in layers chicken against Avian influenza vaccine. This research used DOC reared for twenty one days with two treatments. The treatments were given turmeric ethanol extract 50% concentration at day 8 until day 21, Avian influenza vaccine were given at day 15. The bloods sample were collected at day 7,14, and 21 at brachial vein. It was an experimental research and data was analyzed using t test paired sample. The result of turmeric ethanol extract on total heterophils before AI vaccine were given showed an increase significant effect (P<0,05) (12,6563 ñ 4,60) %, and after vaccinized were (19,0000 ñ 9,22) %. The result turmeric ethanol extract on total basophils before AI were given showed there were no significant effect (P>0,05) (2,9688 ñ 1,96) %, and after vaccinized were (3,2813 ñ 1,76) %.
