It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we present the proceedings of the 1st Inter-national Conference on Social Environment Diversity (ICOSEND), hosted virtually by Universitas Semarang (USM), on November 5 and 6, 2024. This inaugural conference, held under the theme “New Paradigm of Diversity and Sustainability in Social and Community,” reflects our commitment to fostering innovative research and dialogue on pressing issues related to diversity and sustainability in social environments.
ICOSEND 2024 received an overwhelming response from the global academic com-munity, with 156 paper submissions from scholars, researchers, and practitioners repre-senting various disciplines and perspectives. Following a rigorous peer-review process conducted by 25 qualified reviewers, 94 papers were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 61%. This high standard ensured that the proceedings highlight the most impactful and relevant contributions to the discourse on social environment diversity.
The conference served as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, and paper presentations that delved into various aspects of social and community diversity. Participants explored critical topics such as cultural integration, sustainable governance models, equitable economic systems, and the role of technology in fostering inclusive societies. The discussions underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing the complexities of our ever-changing world.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all contributors, reviewers, and attendees whose participation and dedication made this conference successful. Special thanks are due to the organizing committee of Universitas Semarang for their tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of this event.
As we celebrate ICOSEND 2024’s achievements, we also look forward with great anticipation to the 2nd International Conference on Social Environment Diversity (ICOSEND).
