Education makes people understand the responsibility and righteousness of human society as a person; language is the bridge and link among members of society and the tool for mutual communication and expression of ideas; and art is a spiritual product that can enrich our spiritual life.

Education, language and art all play a very important role in our life, and that is why the 2023 3rd International Conference on Education, Language and Art (ICELA 2023) was created. Held in Beijing, China, via hybrid format from November 17th to 19th, 2023, ICELA 2023 brought together more than 100 experts and scholars from fields related to education, language and art. We aspire ICELA to serve as an effective platform for academicians and researchers nationally and internationally to share ideas, state-of-the-art researches and future developments of educational methods in diverse fields of education, language and art studies.

The Conference was intended to give students and research groups an opportunity to learn more about education, language and art as an important tool in their research applications and development. The specific Conference topics include: Educational Psychology, Principles of Pedagogy, Philosophy in Language, Language Research and Development, Drama and Film Studies, Digital Media Technology, etc.

There were many high-quality speeches and presentations by researchers and scholars representing both institutes and academia. The scientific program consisted of 4 keynote speeches, 16 oral presentations and various poster presentations. The four talks were keynote speeches given by Prof. Zhonggen Yu (Beijing Language and Culture University, China), Prof. Holger Mathias BRIEL (Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC), China), Prof. Beryl Exley (Griffith University, Australia) and Prof. Andrea L. Baldini (Nanjing University, China). Among them, Prof. Zhonggen Yu performed a speech on Bibliometrically and Systematically Analyzing Automated Writing Evaluation for English Learning. His study combined bibliometric analysis and systematic review to explore the use of automated writing evaluation for learning English as a second language. And it revealed that automated writing evaluation is helpful, but its effectiveness varies according to the types of feedback, and it cannot replace the role of human feedback yet.
