- Abstract
“Kung Fu Hustle,” a Hong Kong action-comedy film directed by Stephen Chow and released in 2004, continues to be beloved by audiences. The film’s use of traditional Chinese music in its soundtrack is widely regarded as a classic. This research aims to explore the expression of ethnicity in the soundtrack of the film “Kung Fu Hustle.” By delving into the functions of traditional Chinese music in the film, as well as the cultural symbols and emotional conveyance embedded in this music, we seek to reveal the significance of ethnic music in this movie. This study is intended to provide valuable insights for the fields of film music composition and cultural research.
