- Abstract
The first integral method, based on the theory of commutative algebra, is an efficient method for obtaining traveling wave solutions of some nonlinear partial differential equations, which is applied to solve (3+1) dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation in this work. The traveling wave solutions for the equation are obtained. This method can be applied to nonintegrable equations as well as to integrable ones.
