Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Current Issues in Education (ICCIE 2018)

The globalisation and disruptive era lead to the fast and paradoxical changes and consequences in various educational issues such as: curriculum and pedagogical innovation, teachers’ professionalism, educational technology, educational policy and management, literacy, diversity in education, etc. To respond to these issues, it needs a comprehensive study related to various efforts in handling educational issues, such as by presenting a multidisciplinary conference on the development of educational issues through an International Conference on Current Issues in Education (ICCIE).

The 3rd ICCIE 2018 was co-hosted by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to pull together a number of current and critical issues for educational researchers, educational policy makers, and practitioners. The theme of ICCIE 2018 is Education for Sustainable Development. They worked with the complexity of making significant changes in educational policies, beliefs, and practices to improve the educational effectiveness for all students in this post-modern and disruptive era. They also encouraged educators to adjust to changing contexts over time with the focus of serving their students. In relation to this, the conference has provided participants with ample opportunities to share their experience and expertise. In particular, it was designed to share and examine contemporary conceptions of teaching and learning and of their change over time. It could lead to an awareness of the need to build quality teaching and learning theories and practices with a new paradigm.

We would like to thank to all parties who were involved in the conference and publication processes. The conference proceedings are published in Atlantis Press and we do hope that the papers can shed some light on current issues in education and can be an additional value of the literatures within the field.
