Call for Papers - Special Issue on Food Safety Analysis

eFood is pleased to announce the upcoming publication of a special issue on Food Safety Analysis. Food safety analysis is an essential step to decrease the pathogens, toxins, toxic elements and other unhealthy contaminants involved in our food production, food cooking, food storage and food processing. We would thus like to provide an open forum dedicated to the development of food analysis methods with an emphasis on fast, sensitive, on-site, non-destructive, high-throughput, and portable detection of toxic substances within foods. Guest Editors for this special issue are Mingqian Tan (Dalian Polytechnic University), Srinivas Janaswamy (South Dakota State University), and Zhenzhen Xu (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China). Call for Papers - Special Issue on Antioxidants

eFood is pleased to announce the upcoming publication of a special issue on Antioxidants. Papers focusing on the health-promoting properties of natural antioxidants derived from food products, such as polyphenols, peptides, dietary fiber, vitamins, antioxidant enzymes, and certain phytochemicals are welcome. Contributions on synergistic effects among different compounds (antioxidant and others) on health promotion and on reducing the risk of diseases are, furthermore, much encouraged. Guest Editors for this special issue are Jianping Wu (University of Alberta), Shaoyun Wang (Fuzhou University), and Xiaodan Shi (Fuzhou University). The paper submission deadline is 30 July 2021. Call for Papers - Special Issue on Studies on the Properties and Activities of Dietary Bioactive Compounds and Polysaccharides

eFood is pleased to announce the upcoming publication of a special issue on Studies on the Properties and Activities of Dietary Bioactive Compounds and Polysaccharides. This special issue aims at being an open forum where scientists may share their investigations and findings in this promising sector so as to increase their visibility and interactions with colleagues, industries and production systems. Contributions covering all aspects of dietary bioactive compounds are accepted. In particular, studies with multidisciplinary approaches are welcome. Guest Editors for this special issue are Weibin Bai (Jinan University, China), Francesca Giampieri (Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy) and Lijun You (South China University of Technology, China). eFood Sponsors First International Conference on Natural Toxicology and Pharmacology (1-ICNTP)

The First International Conference on Natural Toxicology and Pharmacology (1-ICNTP) was successfully held in Guangzhou in China from 7-11 August 2019. Organized by Jinan University, Zhejiang University and the University of Hong Kong, 1-ICNTP provided an excellent platform to exchange ideas and explore recent advances in the area of toxicology and pharmacology of natural products. As a sponsor of this event, the eFood journal was promoted during the open ceremony by one of its Chief Editors, Prof. Dr. Li-Shu Wang, from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee (United States).

2nd Editorial Board Meeting of the eFood Journal Organized in Guangzhou on 7 August 2019

During the First International Conference on Natural Toxicology and Pharmacology (1-ICNTP) in Guangzhou (China), the eFood journal successfully organized its 2nd Editorial Board Meeting. 16 Chief Editors, including Prof. Dr. Weibin Bai and Prof. Dr. Maurizio Battino, 20 Editorial Board Members and the Managing Editor Dr. Hui Cao, altogether from 11 different countries and three different regions, attended the meeting. The Publisher, Ms. Ran Dang from Atlantis Press, gave a presentation to introduce the current situation of eFood and discussed with the board members on the journal's positioning, future strategy, development plan and promotional ideas to receive higher impact and visibility. Overall, the meeting was very well received.

eFood at the Annual Meeting of the Phytochemical Society of Europe

August 6th, 2019

From 28-31 July 2019, Prof. Dr. Jianbo Xiao, one of the Editors-in-Chief of eFood, was invited to the Natural Products in Drug Discovery and Human Health (NatProdDDH) conference, organized by the Phytochemical Society of Europe (PSE) in Lisbon, Portugal. The attractive program of NatProdDDH covers the state-of-the-art in Natural Products research, up to their application as value-added products for human health. eFood was introduced at the conference to more than 300 natural products researchers, including senior scientists, early career researchers and PhD students from all over the world. Three Best Poster Awards of 200 Euro each were also sponsored by eFood and presented by Prof. Dr. Jianbo Xiao.
