- Abstract
The aim of this paper is to examine the current issues facing employment and human resources in the GCC countries. Human capital plays an important role in their struggle to achieve economic development while moving away from the oil sector. The first section of the paper discusses the economic and demographic factors in the GCC countries. The second section discusses the contemporary issues in employment. Finally, future directions of the field are addressed.
