Drought Temporal Variation Characteristics Analysis based on the PDSI Data in Mongolian Plateau

- According to Mongolian Plateau more droughts, serious hazards, selected 1980-2013 Mongolia Plateau 101 meteorological stations of month precipitation, annual temperature meteorological data, based on the Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) on the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of drought were analyzed. Results show that: drought of Mongolian Plateau has weak mitigated the trend; light drought, Moderate drought frequency is higher It is mainly distributed in the central region of the Mongolian Plateau, severe drought, extreme drought frequency is lower,It is mainly distributed in Inner Mongolia of northeast and Mongolia of northwest . The drought cycle have three times of strong cyclical swings more than 20a, while the scale, under in less than 10a drought cyclical change more frequently appear many times how many alternate precipitation process.
