Abstract

Changes of the network topology of a power system, which are determined by a sequence of operations of breakers, will influence the relationships between relays and protected sections. Further more, the complexity of power systems and the uncertainty of all kinds of information make the relations between faults and information more complicated and the fault-section estimation problem more difficult. In this paper, the causal relationships among protected sections, relays and breakers are analyzed by using the operation information of relays and breakers. A simple fault-section estimation model based on Bayesian network for power systems is proposed.
