Abstract

Interaction is a reciprocal relationship that occurs between individuals and other. Power here tend to a sign of the meaning of the character Ola that is a brave figure. A film certainly cannot be separated from characters, so interactions between characters with certain shapes and purposes are created. The interaction and power are synthesized by Norman Fairclough critical discourse analytic based on dialogues and scenes in the film I Never Cry with the premise of a girl who has to pick up his father’s body abroad, but has to face things she doesn’t know. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques are in the form of observations and literature studies. The primary data in this study is a Poland film by Piotr Domalewski produced by. Akson Studio, M1 Production. The story in this film has several settings. Therefore, a purposive sampling technique was carried out by dividing several sequences scenes and choosing dialogues that showed interaction of Ola with other characters and the power of Ola. The data used in this study is audio-visual works that are English subtitling from Polish language within the film consisting of 58 scenes and 16 sequences from https://www.festivalscope.com/film/i-never-cry/ that was downloaded at 27 September 2021. The result of study is the main character, Ola, who aims to bring back his father cremation, Krzysztof from Ireland to Poland who has interactions between strong power and even though internally her feelings experienced fragility.
