Abstract

When modeling sound propagation through the uppermost layers of the ocean, the presence of bubble clouds cannot be ignored. Their existence can convert a range-independent sound propagation problem into a range-dependent one. Based on available test data and within the framework of previous work, a model of bubble population in the analog ship wake is developed. The model parameters are calculated and the model error is analyzed. This model, which coincide the test data, is then can be used to help modeling ship wake bubble distribution.
