The article is devoted to the problem of self-development of children and adolescents in modern education. The authors defined additional education as an educational environment with a high pedagogical potential for solving the problems of self-development of the younger generation. The authors distinguish the basic subjective functions of the additional education of children in the development of subjectivity of the individual
