Abstract

The 47th Conference of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME) emphasized the critical importance of preparing teachers to teach mathematics using digital technology. A high-quality vision of mathematics teaching involves understanding how educators aspire to integrate technology into instructional practices. Beyond exploring digital mathematics competence, this study also examines how teachers conceptualize the digital competence necessary for effective mathematics teaching in technology-integrated classrooms. Accordingly, a review of mathematics learning practices is needed, particularly those that incorporate both digital mathematics competence and the broader digital competence of mathematics instruction. This research adopts a quantitative approach using systematic literature review methods. The sources include PME proceedings, international articles from ZDM Mathematics Education, and research studies focused on the integration of digital technology in mathematics education. The findings highlight that technology serves as an effective tool to assist teachers in developing instructional materials and enhancing student engagement. By facilitating collaboration through digital media, technology enables students to better understand mathematical concepts in a more interactive and enjoyable manner.
