Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of weight training to increase the ability of style swimming 50-meter butterfly swimming student specialization FIK UNP. This research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study are all students of specialization pool July-December semester of 2014/2015, amounting to 10 students. The results of that study are a significant effect of weight training on the ability of the butterfly stroke swimming 50 yards, an average of 66.11 seconds to 56.78 seconds, in which the test results mean difference (t-test) obtained thit 8.537 > 2.306 ttab.
