- Abstract
This research will explain about the history and role of the jawara in controlling Banten's economic, social and local resources.The influence of the Jawara increased in the beginning at the time of the Orde Baru who experienced social mobility into a powerful elite in Banten. In the reform era with the opening of community participation to make the jawara involved in supporting the candidate for local election in Banten.Jawara have a role and influence because they have magical powers and then control the economic resources that divert to the mastery of local politics.One of the jawara who is always involved in supporting candidates to the Banten region is the organization of TTKKDH jawara.The support of these jawara organizations is important because they have a wide and rooted structure from the center to the regions.In Banten local election 2017, TTKKDH supports Wahidin Halim-Andika Hazrumy to become Governor and Vice Governor of Banten. There are several roles of TTKKDH jawara, including as a supporter, facilitator, opinion leader, and successful team. In addition, there is a motivation of TTKKDH jawara that is normative and pragmatic-opportunist.
