- Abstract
Under the influence of worldwide modernism and Japanese neo-sensationalism, Chinese neo-sensationalism comes into being. Mu Shiying, one of the neo-sensationalist writers in Shanghai, pushes the literary movement to its climax with his masterful piece Shanghai Fox-trot. This paper approaches to primary Chinese neo-sensationalist writing features including montage editing and stream-of-consciousness writing to explore how Mu Shiying transports visual sensations to readers in Shanghai Fox-trot.
