Based on a close textual reading of The Border Town and The Wen town, this paper analyzes and compare the characteristics between Cui Cui and Xiao Mei in this two works. The paper seeks to clarify the different female views between Shen Cong Wen and Yu Hua, and speculate on the writers’ signified and influences.
