Abstract

In addition to the typical defensive function, Shanxi fort-style settlements present ideas with regional characteristics in terms of spatial layout and architectural features. This article is based on the research of the fortress settlement in Shanxi as a typical fortress settlement. From the literature and field investigations, we excavate valuable research materials, comprehensively use subject knowledge to analyze the materials, and analyze the results from the perspective of multiple disciplines. The site characteristics and morphological presentations of the fort settlement building group are related to the local natural environmental factors and humanistic environment factors, and the cause and current situation are analyzed. The connotation of the Shilu Fort settlement building group is analyzed, and the deep cultural significance is put forward.
