Abstract

The article is devoted to the creation of professional vocal education in China. The dotted line outlines the main stages in the development of vocal education in the ancient times. The main attention is paid to the establishing of the European style of professional vocal education. This emphasizes that Russian musicians and teachers played an important role in this process. It is noted that the first opera house opening in Harbin allowed the educated Chinese society to get acquainted with the achievements of European, as well as Russian operas. This states that according to the program of Russian pre-revolutionary conservatories in the 20s three music schools worked in Harbin, including higher school of music named after Glazunov. It is said about the first performances on the Chinese stage of Tchaikovsky's operas "The Queen of spades" and "Eugene Onegin", performed under the leadership of the Russian musicians.
