- Abstract
The adoption and implementation of the CMI can be counted as a major step in strengthening financial cooperation among thirteen East Asian countries. However, ASEAN+3 will face much tougher challenges and tasks in exploring developments beyond the CMI. The East Asian countries need to explain what their motivations are, how they will develop an action plan, and how they believe the plan is in line with the existing global financial system to international community.
