- Abstract
This article presents the implementation of the character education reinforcement at State Elementary School Keputran I as the cultural heritage in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how the process of the implementation of the character education reinforcement as well as its synergy with the local wisdom. Furthermore, the results could be used as the consideration data for the school, the society, and the government to develop a better program for the character education reinforcement. The research is categorized a case study as a part of qualitative research, which used snowball sampling technique to select the research participants. The process of data collection technique included the non-participative observation, in-depth interview and documentation. The results were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion or verification. The continous synergy between both variables possessed many positive effects. The positive impacts were shown through the learners’ attitude in the daily activity during the implementation. The results of the implementation of the character education reinforcement elaborated that the proper education is realized in order to preserve the character and culture to prepare the generation encountering the challenge in the future. It can be achieved by using the character education reinforcement program associated with local wisdom from each region
