Abstract

This paper introduces current prevalent situation of the negative list in the field of international investment. It discusses that the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and the China-U.S. bilateral investment treaty negotiation directly promote the reform of China’s foreign investment regulation. The paper then explains the contents and development of three versions of the negative list in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and discusses its implications for foreign investors.
