Abstract

Financial engineering is a product of the trend of economic globalization, which has changed the traditional financial landscape. The implementation of financial engineering has become a credential for great powers to compete and participate in global financial activities. The development of financial engineering is inseparable from the cultivation of talents in financial engineering. This paper introduces the history of the financial engineering discipline, examines the motivations behind its emergence and development, analyzes the disciplinary characteristics of financial engineering and the concept of financial innovation. Based on an analysis of the issues in the development of China’s financial engineering discipline, the paper then proposes reforms and development ideas for the talent cultivation mode of financial engineering in the context of financial innovation.
