- Abstract
As the concept of sustainability has gradually become an important part of mainstream values, sustainable finance and financial products of this category have been receiving more and more attention in financial markets worldwide. In the rapid development of sustainable finance today, many issues and controversies related to it have been increasingly concerned by academics and related practitioners, the most representative of which is the “greenwashing” issue. This paper discusses the definition of greenwashing through the perspective of legal studies, and further explores the causes of the problem, with a view to obtaining a unique solution path that is different from that of other disciplines.
