It is with great pleasure and deep honor that I extend a warm welcome to all of you to the 11th International Conference on Business, Accounting, Finance, and Economics (BAFE) 2023. Our chosen theme for this year is “Synergizing Virtual and Physical Business Realities in the New Digital Era.” BAFE 2023 is set to be a unique and engaging experience as we embrace a hybrid format for the conference, scheduled for October 25, 2023. This approach allows us to seamlessly blend the best of both virtual and physical worlds, creating an inclusive and enriching environment for our participants. We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with eight esteemed partner universities from around the globe, including institutions in China, Russia, and the Philippines, who have graciously joined us as co-organizers for this year’s BAFE conference. This international collaboration shows our commitment to fostering a diverse and comprehensive dialogue on business, accounting, finance, and economics. BAFE has always been a multidisciplinary platform, and this year is no exception. Our conference will provide an invaluable forum for scholars from diverse backgrounds to share their latest research findings and insights on pressing global issues. We have curated a stimulating lineup of topics, including discussions on digitalization in finance and accounting, industry trends, healthcare in the digital economy, societal transformations, post-pandemic educational research, digital marketing, and much more.

Despite the challenging times we have faced, we are delighted to report that we have received an impressive array of submissions, totaling over 40 papers. These contributions hail from both local and international scholars, representing countries such as China, Myanmar, Indonesia, India, and Pakistan. The wealth of knowledge and perspectives they bring promises to ignite profound discussions, paving the way for innovative ideas and advancements across the realms of business, accounting, finance, and economics. This year’s theme, “Synergizing Virtual and Physical Business Realities in the New Digital Era,” encapsulates the profound shifts occurring in the business landscape. In this era, customers engage with businesses through diverse touchpoints, spanning the virtual and physical realms. To succeed, companies must innovate, fostering a seamless and personalized customer experience across these channels.

In the wake of the pandemic, it is imperative that we continue to champion digital transformation. This includes the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, the streamlining of processes through automation, and the reimagining of core business strategies. Embracing this transformation is not merely advantageous; it is essential for maintaining competitiveness and agility in the digital age. As businesses adapt and thrive in the digital era, they must also be conscientious stewards of the environment and society. Achieving harmony between sustainability and corporate responsibility while harnessing the potential of digital advancements is a central tenet of this year’s conference theme. Hence, this conference serves as a vital platform, bringing together researchers to present their latest contributions, spanning diverse aspects of business management, accounting, finance, and economics, with a strong emphasis on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations. We aim to showcase cutting-edge work that advances our theoretical, methodological, and empirical understanding, contributing to the broader discourse on these critical dimensions of contemporary business and economics.

In addition, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our esteemed plenary speakers: Associate Prof. Dr. Tan Wee Liang from Singapore Management University, Singapore, and Associate Prof. Dr. Hajah Fadilah binti Hj Puteh from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Their invaluable contributions promise to enrich our conference. Furthermore, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our international editorial board members, the dedicated members of the scientific committee, and our diligent reviewers. Their unwavering commitment and professional expertise have played a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of this conference.

Last but not least, I want to extend my deepest thanks to my hardworking team, who have devoted tireless efforts throughout the year in various capacities to transform this conference from a vision into reality. I trust that you will find this event both enlightening and enjoyable. We eagerly anticipate both the virtual and physical interactions and knowledge-sharing that lie ahead. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Best regards and wishes,

October 2023
