This conference is an annual event conducted virtually on Thursday, July 28, 2022, by the Guidance and Counseling Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The ultimate goals are to overcome the present-day crisis and seek an opportunity to lead the educational and counseling practice through sustainability development. More of this event’s objectives are elaborated as follows: 1. Reframing ethical lens and core values to support sustainable development in education and counseling
2. Sharing the world’s best practices and innovative scenarios against the challenging effect of COVID-19 on education especially of guidance and counseling through sustainability development
3. Pioneering guidance and counseling department and student association as the first international event as a stepping stone, to emerge as an innovative and progressive organization. The theme of the first Annual International Conference is “Foundation & Innovation in Guidance and Counseling”. The number of participants is 150 including keynote speakers, invitations, presenters, and non-presenter participants coming from various institutions and various countries consisting of researchers, lecturers, and postgraduate and undergraduate students. There are four keynote speakers, 22 paperswill be presented in parallel, and 19 best papers will be published on Atlantis Press. Last but not least, I would like to express blessed gratitude to the committee and all who helped these event activities to take place, especially to the Rector University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, Agus Slamet, Dean Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Nuryadi, and Head of Guidance and CounselingDepartment, LukyKurniawan. Without your support, the first Annual International Conference would not be a reality. Representing the organizer, I proudly welcome all of you to the first AIC 2022.
