Abstract

The manual attendance method for students at the Adisutjipto Institute of Aerospace Technology is the background to this research to attendance system to minimize the loss of attendance data and cheating in taking attendance. By utilizing Android-based Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, student attendance can be done more efficiently and facilitate the recapitulation of student attendance data. The purpose of this research is so that attendance can be done more easily via smartphone, facilitating the attendance process and data recapitulation by the admin. Some related data are collected as database requirements from the attendance application, such as Lecturer data, Students, KRS, room data, and courses. The design of the attendance application begins with creating the flow of each system using a flowchart and designing a database, which is then realized in the form of an Android-based application. Several test tests are run to determine the functionality, efficiency, and satisfaction of student users with the attendance application. Several tests have been run; it can be concluded that the student attendance application at the Adisujipto Yogyakarta Aerospace Technology Institute runs well and is efficiently used as a student attendance method.
