Ethics Approval Requirements

For research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data, authors are required to include a clear statement of ethics committee approval or ethical exemption, where applicable. Compliance with ethical requirements is assessed as part of the submission and editorial evaluation process for this proceedings series.

Editors and volume editors are responsible for ensuring that ethical standards are applied consistently across all volumes published within the series.

Originality and Research Integrity

All submissions to this proceedings series must present original research and clearly describe their scholarly contribution to the field. Manuscripts are evaluated to ensure that they do not substantially overlap with previously published work and that they meet accepted standards of research integrity and academic quality.

The Atlantis Press editorial team also verifies the originality of submitted manuscripts using similarity detection software as part of the editorial evaluation process. Authors are expected to follow Atlantis Press Author Guideline on proper citation practices, responsible reporting of research, and disclosure of relevant conflicts of interest.

Peer Review Policy

All proposals for proceedings submitted to Atlantis Press for publication consideration in this series are first evaluated by a Series Editor(s) and/or a scientific evaluation committee consisting of senior researchers in the relevant field.

All accepted volumes published in this proceedings series undergo peer review in accordance with Atlantis Press standards for proceedings publications and the Springer Nature book publishing framework. The peer review process for the individual articles within each proceedings is organized under the responsibility of the conference organizers and the Volume Editors appointed by the program committee of the conference, who are committed to assess the academic quality, originality, relevance, and clarity of submitted contributions.

Peer review procedures and outcomes are documented transparently at volume level, and a peer review and ethics statement describing the review process is published alongside each volume, including:

  1. the type of peer review such as single-blind, double-blind review, open review or main editors review;
  2. editorial system you used;
  3. number of reviewers, submission and accepted papers;
  4. how final manuscripts were selected;
  5. Any efforts in improving peer review.

Reviewers should be instructed to assess the quality of submissions solely based on the academic merit of their content including but not limited to the following dimensions:

  1. Pertinence of the article’s content to the scope and themes of the conference;
  2. Clear demonstration of originality, novelty, and timeliness of the research;
  3. Soundness of the methods, analyses, and results;
  4. Adherence to the ethical standards and codes of conduct relevant to the research field;
  5. Clarity, cohesion, and accuracy in language and other modes of expression, including figures and tables.

Editorial Responsibility

Series Editors and Volume Editors are responsible for overseeing peer review, ensuring compliance with ethics and originality requirements, and maintaining the scholarly standards and scope of this proceedings series. Their role includes applying publisher policies consistently and documenting editorial and review processes at volume level.
