Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Early Childhood Education. Semarang Early Childhood Research and Education Talks (SECRET 2018)
This Conference Proceedings volume contains the written version of all of the contributions presented during the 4th Semarang Early Childhood Research and Education Talks (Secret 2018). The international conference held by the Department of Early Childhood Teacher Education is a research-based conference. The conference is organized to discover the findings, ideas, and the education policies in early childhood education. Semarang Early Childhood Research and Education Talks (SECRET) is the biennial conference held by the Department of Early Childhood Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, Semarang State University. Its name is taken from the city of Semarang, the capital of Central Java Province, which is also the home of Semarang State University. The 4th Secret (Semarang Early Childhood Research and Education Talks)Semarang Early Childhood Research and Education Talks (SECRET) is the biennial conference held by the Department of Early Childhood Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, Semarang State University. Its name is taken from the city of Semarang, the capital of Central Java Province, which is also the home of Semarang State University. The conference was held on 8-9 August 2018 at Hotel Santika Premiere, Semarang, Indonesia. Over 250 participants have joined the discussion. About 90 participants have submitted and presented their paper. Two reviewers reviewed each paper that has been received by the committee. Thomson and Reuters will further evaluate this selected paper.
SECRET aims as an open learning space for early childhood practitioners, educators, and teachers, researchers and academics as well as Policy-makers to share their knowledge, research and practices. SECRET programs include seminar, workshop, parallel paper presentations, and cultural performance.
This year, SECRET`s main topic is Growing up digitally: Early childhood education and the digitized world. This topic embraces both prospects and challenges, opportunities and risks, optimism and skepticism that this very new world - digitized world - brings to us-parents, teachers, researchers, activists, policy-makers in the field of early childhood education. SECRET 2018 intends to provide a forum to share, investigate, and rethink our knowledge, belief, and not least (mis-)understanding of this new world and to ensure that it is the same better and safer world we envision for our children. Secret 2018 has eight sub-themes: 1) Digital world and teachers development, 2) Hoax and child development, 3) Digital world and early childhood education: intruder or partner?, 4) Digital media integration into preschool, 5) A new significant others called social media, 6) Digital world and parenting, 7) The possibility of digital preschool, 8) A digital world, a safer world?
