COVID-19 epidemic has caused tremendous influence to the world economy. as a major driver of economic growth, the digital economy has also been affected. Guangzhou is a central economic city in southern China, and the development of digital economy is relatively mature. This paper adopts the methods of literature analysis, case analysis, questionnaire survey and other research methods to analyze the impact of the epidemic on various fields of digital economy in Guangzhou, sort out the measures and effects of digital economy in response to the epidemic, and obtain the opinions and suggestions of digital economy practitioners through questionnaire survey. Based on the above analysis, this study believes the COVID-19 outbreak has brought some influence to Guangzhou’s digitized economic growth, however, it is very resilient and able to cope with it. Digital economy will remain a major impetus for the growth of Guangzhou’s economy. In order to do so, we should enhance the building of digital infrastructure and enhance innovative capacity so as to push forward the integration of the digital economy with the real economy.
