- Abstract
Industrial concentration can measure the level of competition and monopoly in an industry. Based on data from the statistical yearbooks of a western province from 2013 to 2023 and data from leading enterprises in various characteristic industries of the province, combined with the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), concentration calculations reveal that the primary sector is oligopolistic. The cotton and tomato industries operate under perfect competition, while the sugar industry is characterized by high oligopoly. The government should provide policy recommendations for the high-quality development of the agricultural industry.
