Conference: Proceedings of the 2024 7th International Symposium on Traffic Transportation and Civil Architecture (ISTTCA 2024)
Date: 21-23 June 2024
Location: Tianjin, China (Hybrid)
Website: http://www.isttca.com Against the backdrop of globalization and ever-changing technology, the integration and synergy of transportation and civil construction, as the two cornerstones of social development, are increasingly becoming a key force for economic progress, regional integration and improving the quality of life of the people. In this regard, the 2024 7th International Symposium on Traffic Transportation and Civil Architecture (ISTTCA 2024) took place in Tianjin, China, from June 21 to 23, 2024, which was hosted by Tianjin University and Tianjin Port Engineering Institute Co., Ltd. of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. The conference is an international academic forum for the presentation of research results and technological advances in the fields of and related to traffic transportation and civil architecture technologies involving their advanced applications. It brought together many leading experts, scholars, technicians and industry elites in the domains of interest from around the world to share and publish research results and discuss the best contributions to develop relevant disciplines through research. The attending delegates had a great opportunity to share research experience and personal perspectives during keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations, as well as to initiate discussions on topics that are of interest to the conference attendees. In the keynote speech part, Professor Xilin Lü (Tongji University) first explained to us the instability of shield tunnel face in sand under complex conditions through experimental study and numerical simulation. And then, Associate Researcher and Senior Engineer Le Wang (Tianjin University) studied the force mechanism of non-steady rotational installation process of large-scale helical anchor foundations for floating wind turbines. Based on composite piles with variable-diameter shafts, Senior Engineer Chao Liang (Tianjin University) conducted research on their bearing capacity and structural integrity. In addition, Senior Engineer Zhichao Dong (CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd.) presented the key design and construction technologies for curved flexible pipe-jointed undersea tunnels under complex conditions. Lastly, Engineer Xu Liu (CCCCFirstHarbor Engineering Co., Ltd.) showed us the comprehensive key technologies and applications in the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan bridge island-tunnel project. All the speakers presented us dramatic speeches with their professional views on specific topics. And the conference was very active during all the presentations, heated discussions continuing even during the breaks. ISTTCA 2024 received a quantity of manuscripts including international ones, but some of the submissions were unfortunately rejected after rigorous review process. By submitting a paper to the conference, the authors understood and agreed that papers would undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Manuscripts were reviewed by at least two to three independent, qualified experts in the fields selected by the conference committee, who took detailed comments and the authors would submit a revised version in which the feedback was taken into consideration. Wewould like to thank all the staff, committee members, authors, speakers, reviewers and everyone who worked for, contributed to and lent a hand in reviewing papers and making valuable suggestions for the improvement of the conference!
