- Abstract
Learning media can categorized as creative things if they have advantages in the process of creating, processing, and producing a product or work. Variety of existing learning media either software or hardware based can be alternative in fostering students’ creative thinking in processing or creating products that will be generated based on the ideas they have. Short movie become alternative creative learning media among other media. Thus, the purposes of this research are (1) to describe aspects of short movie transformation into written short story, and (2) to describe the procedure of short movie into short story. Creative learning media in this paper is a short movie which presented through the transformation or changing of form from audio visual form into short story. This study used descriptive qualitative method which describes design and stages of transformation from movie into text. The stages are (1) the students select a good movie; (2) students observe the story in the movie; (3) the students write an outline based on the story in form of sentences; and (4) the students develop the outline into a whole story. The results of this study as learning media can be implemented in writing skill of literary text.
