- Abstract
Problem-based material is rarely found in the context of Indonesian Primary Schools. Therefore, this paper is attempted to evaluating the current issue of problem-based materials and its outcomes for the students in the social class. This study used qualitative approach. The respondents were the social class of the primary school in west Java, Indonesia. Employing classroom action-research design, the data were collected through observation, interview and tests. The results of the study indicate that problem-based material is perceived positively by the students. Students were actively engaged in the peer discussion. Moreover, the results of the tests suggest that problem-based material is potential for improving students’ learning outcomes. The implication of the study as well as the practical issues is also discussed).
