Abstract

The article deals with the conditions for the origin and development of the Hanseatic trade community; the importance of economic, legal, confessional and international situation. Particular attention is paid to the relationship of the Hanseatic League and the Russian state, the Novgorod lands. The mutual interest of the Hanseatic League and Rus’ in developing international trade and comprehensive communication is indicated.
