Abstract

The fast advancement of large language models (LMs) creates significant educational and philosophical issues for college English teaching methods. This research examines methods for integrating moral education into the college English course through the embodied language perspective in LLM-based teaching environments. The research uses New Horizon College English 1 (3rd Edition) as its case to study how moral education content could be integrated into language instruction through discourse analysis, instructional observation, and interviews. The research presents a loop integration model comprising four elements, including experience, reflection, conceptualization, and application. The model utilizes LLMs’ features to support personalized learning, critical reflection, and dialogic engagement while emphasizing the embodied and recursive processes of meaning-making. The research results show that this proposed model strengthens the depth and authenticity of moral education in college English, leading to a better alignment between language learning and ethical development. In addition, the research adds to current discussions about human-AI educational collaboration while providing educational recommendations for complete student development during the digital era.
