Abstract

It has been a long harassment to seamless tubes production that its productivity will be largely affected by the pause caused in adjusting the craft parameters of piercer, the important equipment in the process. Aiming at the problem, a rebuilding method of Diescher guide disc is proposed. The on-line adjustment of the important craft parameter, guide disc rev, has been realized through this method on SWW skew rolling piercer in Baosteel Corporation in practice. This guide disc model is driven by the hydraulic system, and the important parameter in the model, load-torque, is predicted by soft measure method and its disturbance is canceled by the feed-forward control algorithm. As for the error caused by soft sensing method, inferential control algorithm is applied to avoid it. The compound control algorithm system works to realize the final speed control of guide disc, and its accuracy, robustness and fast response have been proved validated in simulation.
