- Abstract
The purpose of the article is to verify media myths about Karelia through comparison with observation. The study is conducted on the basis of a sociological survey of the republic residents, an analysis of theoretical sources on the topic and statistical data obtained during a scientific expedition. The objectives of the study on the problem of the veracity of media myths about Karelia are solved comprehensively by the methods of cultural studies, philosophy, sociology, psychology and philology, contributing to academic novelty
