Abstract

The article contains new arguments in favor of the two-component pattern which is regarded in communicative-functional syntax as the basic and essential feature of any sentence (opposed to the formal syntax discrimination of two- and one-component sentence patterns in the Russian language system). These arguments are supported both by the analysis of new, experimentally generated texts and L.S. Vygodsky's theory of three functional types of speech.
