Abstract

The main focus in this chapter is on the existence of Human Resources (HR) of women in Palu City. This research is important to show the diversity, richness and strength of Indonesian culture through the role and participation of women. This study answers questions about the profile of women resources in the Kaili ethnic group. Ethnic Kaili is an indigenous ethnicity in Palu City in Central Sulawesi. The method used qualitative, with phenomenology approach. Based on the results of the study, by examining the cultural values held by ethnic Kaili, based on the myth that is believed to see women (mombine) as a creature from the sky down to earth (to manuru) as a powerful male partner (tomalanggai) who have been on earth. Kaili women make a respectable place in the community in the city of Palu. In the life of the Kaili family, assigning tasks to women as subjects plays the role of keeping, keeping, property and family heritage (tina nu mbara-mbara). As for the areas of life in Palu City, Kaili women can show their existence to the national level. By looking at the results of the research, it can be a reference to two things (1) improving the quality of human resources through understanding the culture of the community, (2) and affirming gender balance through strengthening the cultural values that have been practiced in women who have a major place in the community.
