Website: https://sites.google.com/unisma.ac.id/icon-elt2024/home?authuser=0 The 5th International Conference on English Language Teaching (ICON-ELT 2024) was hosted by the English Education Department of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Malang, on October 9–10, 2024. Based on technological developments in English language learning, the English Education Department at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education is hosting the 5th International Conference on English Language Teaching (ICON-ELT 2024) with the theme “Navigating Global Trends in ELT: Past, Present, and Future Challenges.” This conference focuses on discussions about the challenges and trends in English teaching throughout history, currently, and in the future. Keynote speakers include Assoc. Prof. Andrzej Cirocki from the University of York, UK, Dr. Umi Chairati Syam from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, who is also the Chair of the English Language Education Program Association (APSPBI), and Dr. Dzulfikri, M.Pd. from Universitas Malang. Additionally, we have invited competent speakers such as Asst. Prof. Dr. Budi Waluyo, FHEA from Walailak University Thailand, Dr. Aida Binti A. Rahman from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and Phillip Taw from RELO USA. As in the previous years, this conference provides a platform for experts, researchers, and English teachers to discuss global challenges and trends in English teaching. Selected articles presented will also be published in international proceedings and nationally accredited Sinta 2-4 journals. This international scientific forum serves as ameeting place for educators and researchers from various fields to exchange ideas, disseminate research findings, and discuss new developments, particularly in the field of English. Technology plays an essential role in the learning process, offering significant benefits in making teaching engaging and enjoyable. The theme aligns with the advancement of knowledge and technology in learning, addressing challenges and issues in English education in the digital era.
