Abstract

This research is specifically directed towards the emerging phenomenon of “virtual idols”, with a particular focus on the case of Miquela Sosa. To this end, the theories and guides on narration from prominent authors such as Aristotle [1], Greimas [2] and Rimmon-Kenan [3], among others, were explored. The content analysis technique was carried out, creating as an instrument card of the elements present in the creation of narrative universes, rescuing three fundamental concepts: space, time and characters. Furthermore, the theoretical synthesis proposed by Sánchez Navarro [4] was used, which integrates the previously mentioned ideas, with the objective of understanding the composition of the virtual idol’s narrative. And the instrument was applied exhaustively to Miquela’s videos and photographs on her main social media platform, Instagram. The analysis details how the universe of narration is shaped by these innovative characters who stand out as a new phenomenon for telling stories.
