- Abstract
Systematic experimental studies on microstructure evolution and texture development of pure Al during torsion at room temperature are carried out by electron back scattering diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The microstructure evolution states the grains of deformed pure Al are refined evidently. The refinement mechanisms of pure Al are attributed to dislocation slip and recrystallization. The texture evolution of pure Al indicates that the position of {001} fiber changes slightly, but its intensity first increases and then decreases with the increase of deformation during torsion. Finally, the processes of grain refinement of pure Al during torsion are discussed based on TEM observations.
