Abstract

A novel nanosphere -Fe2O3/MWCNT composite has been prepared by a simple hydrothermal method. The characterization of morphology and structure of -Fe2O3/MWCNT composite was carried out by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. It is found that MWCNT was well dispersed in spherical nano-Fe2O3. Furthermore, there is a strong interaction between Fe2O3 and MWCNTs. The -Fe2O3/MWCNT composite with 10 wt% of MWCNT content exhibits optimal photocatalytic activity. For the degradation tests of Rhodamine B, the degradation performance of -Fe2O3/10% wt MWCNT is 11 times that of pure -Fe2O3.
