Abstract

The article is devoted to the reasons of global financial instability and the forecast of the development of the world monetary system. The roles and prospects of the United States, the European Union and BRICS countries are considered. Analyzed the role and place of gold in the present and future. A review and evaluation of cryptocurrency as an alternative to traditional money is given. At the end of the article, the most likely scenarios for the transformation of the world monetary system are presented.
