Abstract

This study was an experimental research which aimed at identifying the effect of implementation of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) and reading habits of exposition text writing skills. This research is using quantitative method with a 2x2 factorial experimental design. The study population was tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 6 Padang. Data were collected through questionnaires and writing-skill tests towards text exposition. Based on the research, the cooperative learning model for STAD shows better results in enhancing the writing skills than the ones who were taught with conventional learning model.
