- Abstract
Parenting is a verbal action or example by parents to guide, educate, foster, supervise, and discipline children so that independent individuals will be nurtured in the future and prevent them from experiencing negative aspects of their surroundings. Education of children in the family is the effort of parents to shape and develop the child’s personality through habituation and guidance. The purpose of this study is to describe the parenting style of parents in educating children among the families of factory workers in Pondok village. The methods used in this study were the interviews, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this study suggest that the parenting style adopted by parents in educating their children is democratic parenting.
